Huge Donation: and some Pictures for you to enjoy... just one of our many events. PETSMART has been wonderful to us! We took pictures of people & their pets with Santa throughout the month of December at $9.95 each and Petsmart donated $5 for each picture to the Shelter. We took 154 pictures for a $770.00 donation by Petsmart to our Animal Care Fund.

Shelter News... In House Masseuse
We have our very own trained & certified Masseuse, Susan Wright. The animals are absolutely loving the extra specifically relaxing attention they're getting from Susan. As you might imagine, animals have the same makeup of muscle tissue and so on that we humans have. Have you ever had a stressful week at work when a message was badly needed? Well, our animals experience much more stress in a shelter environment than we humans seem to realize! It's pretty rough for them and this added treatment is a great relaxer for them. A big thank you to Susan!

Kind Woman Gives
A kind woman, while we had our team in Petsmart doing adoptions, overheard a statement by one of our team members that we were going to give a man, Kevin, one of our dogs... he had been away with the military and had just gotten home. It was time for a pet. The kind lady had come in to look at some Pom dogs. When she heard we were giving the dog away, she approached and gave us the $125 adoption fee and a gift card. She then proceeded to buy over $300 in supplies for the man and his new pet. Who says the world has no more good people in it?! The picture of the man and lady along with the Petsmart manager are in the album above.

The Movie Gallery in Elgin, TX hosted an adoption event in combination with their Free Movie Weekend. They are partnered with us to aid in spreading the word about the Elgin Humane Society to help in the increase of pet adoptions.
