June 29th and July 29th at our Member Meetings, the Presidential Volunteer Awards were presented from the office of President Obama.  These Volunteers are honored for length of and quantity of excellent service.  A big thank you to each of you... and to those who still have more time to invest.  Without our volunteers, we could not operate... and many lives would be lost each year.

Sunday, July 12th at our Petco Adoption event, one of our babies came back to us.  The family had health problems come up and couldn't keep her.  Amanda got adopted back out within an hour.  The REAL story is here:  one night at her new home, the 3 year old little girl was sleep walking outside and Amanda went and woke the mother up.  Amazing story... the little girl was saved from harm and brought back in... thanks to Amanda!  Who says animals aren't smart!

2nd annual "Pup In The Park" is upon us - May 9th.  Check out the details.

Santa Paws again at  PETSMARTand pics with Santa at PETCO!  We took pictures of people & their pets with Santa throughout the month of December and $5 for each picture will be donated to the Shelter.  We took 154 pictures for a $770.00 donation last year from Petsmart.  Things were a little slower this year due to the economy but we were at three locations this time around... that brought things up a little - we're estimating we took the same amount of pictures as last year..
Thank You Petsmart and Petco!

Yet another way to support this shelter and to give to friends and family at the same time!

12-04-08

7-13-08:  A large donation in the amount of $1,000.00 was made by couple -  anonymous donors / animal lovers - in honor of Felix, Callie, Tuffy, Shadow, Me2, & Nuts.  This donation has been ear-marked for the expansion of our cattery.  With this donation we should be able to house an additional ten cats at a time, at least... hence, save far more lives each year.  EHS's board, staff, and volunteers are all so very thankful for this donation as it is by donation alone that we function.  Thanks again to our anonymous family!!
