How to Adopt

Adopting A Friend       
Adoptions are made any time during regular business hours, however, after hours appointments can be made.  We have worked hard to provide these affordable adoption fees:

$95 for dogs and $125 for puppies (6 months and younger) or small breed dogs - which includes spay/neuter (if the dog is old enough), age appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, adenovirus type 2 with cross immunity to Adenovirus Type 1 Hepatitis, parainfluenza, parvo, corona vaccine and leptospira bacterin, Bordetella (kennel cough), de-worming , heartworm test if age appropriate, microchip, collar, and an adoption bag of Science Diet food.

$95 for cats and $125 for kittens - which include spay/neuter (if the cat is old enough), age appropriate vaccinations (rabies, rhinotracheitis calicivirus, panleukopenia, chlamydia psittaci), testing for feline Leukemia and feline AIDS, de-worming if necessary, and an adoption bag of Science Diet food.

Our adoption policy for Pit bulls requires a home visit and a fenced yard. For appointments call us at:

DOG TRAINING

One of our very own, Vice President & Training Coordinator,  Patty is well known as an Animal Behaviorist / Trainer in the local area.  If you have a need for training or have

some questions about your dog(s), please contact Patty.  This service is FREE for you if you adopted your dog from the Elgin Humane Society.  Patty will come to you... no dragging your animal somewhere.  Keep him or her in their comfortable well known surroundings... your home.
